Hugh Miller’s Birthplace Cottage & Museum in Cromarty celebrates prominent 19th-century Highland polymath, Hugh Miller – an eminent geologist, writer and social commentator.
The 'humble abode' of the famous geologist and fossil hunter together with a lovely garden. This and a visit to the dolphins makes for a full day out on the Black Isle.
I love the whole of the Black Isle, and I always make my way here for walks, to look at antiques, go to the monthly farmer's market, cross over to Nigg, and on to Portmahomack, I could go on and on about the many goods reasons to visit Cromarty and the rest of the peninsula. It's magical!
The thatched birthplace cottage, garden and museum of early 19th century writer-folklorist-palaeontologist Hugh Miller. Belongs to the National Trust for Scotland and English NT membership is valid.
