This is one of the many swimming spots that make up Austin's famous green belt. It's a great place for a hike or a nice dip. It is free to enter and dogs can also swim here. Please note, the green belt normally only has flowing water in spring and early summer and check twitter or other current sources to see if it is currently full. (Free entry)
A light hike you can do with the kids... sometimes there’s water in the creek and sometimes not... still fun either way... just 15 min hike each way... and right in our backyard... literally!
Hikes like these don't exist in most cities. Park in the neighborhood and hike in. Swim if you like...go left or right, you won't be disappointed.
Gus Fruh Trail is the access trail to the Barton Creek Greenbelt from Barton Hills Dr. It offers easy access for folks looking for great climbing and a superb swimming hole from the Lamar Blvd side of the greenbelt! While it is also pretty dry during the summer, it becomes an intimate swimming hole after a heavy rainfall in the early months of fall. 2642 Barton Hills Drive, Austin, TX 78704 Pro Tip: This place is great for wading and soaking during the summer, especially since there’s plenty of shade. Be sure to check water levels before you head over!
