If you love bread and pastries and muffins, scones, and cookies, THIS is the place. I love the white Pullman loaf to make French toast. And you've not really had a hot dog until you had one on the hot dog buns they make and sell here. Hamburger buns too. Located in Uptown, you can also pick up a slice of fresh, daily-made focaccia topped with cheese and herbs and such, sort of like deep-dish-pizza. Also be sure to get a Giacometti, which is this long, chewy, cheesy bread-stick. Sometimes they close early if they run out of fresh-baked goods, so best to go in the morning for the best selection. You can get coffee (not great), some chilled beverages, and a selection of cheeses and other items for snack or picnic. They recently started to carry imported pastas, sauces, and olive oils too. There bakery, which also has a small, walk-up window/shop, is located on Washington Street near the marina. There you can buy all of their baked goods, as well as AMAZING grilled cheese sandwiches made-to-order.

From a small, elegant storefront in the Uptown neighborhood, Pan d’Amore sells a remarkable variety of handcrafted breads and pastries. Focaccia and savory croissants are substantial enough to be the centerpiece of a meal; the cookies, cakes, and canelé are sweet indulgences; and the basic breads are made with flair, from seedy sourdough to olive-spiked batards.
