From this fortress they shot down the german boat Blücher during the second world war. The have a wonderful museum where you can learn more about this story.

A fantastic fortness in the Oslofjord. A lot of history from world war 2. Take the boat from Slemmestad, walk around the island. Great sightsing, and Perfect for a picknic.
This place is not only an important part of Norwegian history, but also a total gem of an Island in the Oslo fjord. Goats roam the fields, icecream and food is available, and you can join guided tours to learn about the history. also, you ride the ferry out there from sundsbrygga, wich is enjoyable in itself.
