If you find yourself travelling to El Teide, this unique tree is a lovely stop on the way to stretch your legs and admire the tree awesomeness. This enormous pine could survive in Tenerife's climate just because of weather phenomenon called la bruma, which is fast moving mist from which the trees learned to absorb the moisture. There is a "face" in the tree which is completely natural and looks like the soul of the tree. It is located just above the village of Vilaflor with an altitude of 1.400 m, is the highest village of Tenerife.

Después del Drago Milenario en Icod de los Vinos, éste centenario Pino Canario es el segundo árbol más famoso de la isla por su gran anchura de 9,36m. de circunferencia). Para poder abrazarlo en su totalidad son necesarias de 7 a 8 personas con los brazos bien extendidos. Es también el segundo árbol más alto de España dentro del ranking de especies autóctonas gracias a sus 45m. de altitud. Se estima que tiene entre 700 y 1.000 años de antigüedad, siendo uno de los árboles más antiguos de la isla junto al Drago Milenario, al Pino de las Dos Pernadas y a los Viñátigos Centenarios de Agua García.
