Famous 3,800ft elevation summit. Access via bicycle is free, 11-miles to summit, 30-miles round trip, 3-4 hours. Top summit has viewpoint parking lot with views to Yosemite and San Francisco. Best sightseeing for nature lovers in the area. For hiking specifically, I'd recommend Lime Ridge off Treat Blvd, Castle Rock or Briones.

Access from the Walnut Creek entrance. $10 to drive your car in. Windy, 30 minute road to get to the top. Beautiful views of the whole Bay Area. Summit visitor center is usually open 10am-4pm. Telescopes are mounted on the observation deck to help visitors enjoy one of the finest views in the area.

With an elevation of 3,849 feet, Mount Diablo is the East Bay's highest peak! It is surrounded by low, rolling hills and broad, flat valleys; making the view from the summit remarkable!

From the top you can see the curvature of the earth. On winter days it gets a dusting of snow.
