Locals call this glass beach. Its the nursery for fish in the bay. Lots of glass from the old glass factory that closed but their waste washed ashore here and we used to pick up beach glass of all colors. Great for dogs.

This is a wonderful place where the community goes for walks with dogs, bicycles and especially families on the weekends. Its is 7 miles around the lake and many beautiful spots to stop and take a picture. Above this lake is the Nike summit where you can see a 180 view of the Bay Area.

We dress in layers as it can be chilly in the morning then it heats up. Comfortable shoes but you can wear flip flops until December. From December through February socks and shoes are advised. The winter can be cold as it can get down to about 40 degrees at night so bring a jacket.
