This is a zoo-like place with all 15 species of Cranes on display in nicely laid out cages and pens. Very interesting whether or not you are a bird lover.

the International Crane Foundation calls Baraboo its home. See all 15 of the World’s cranes amongst wildflowers, prairie and forest ($10 admission). Or just simply try to spot some unique bird varieties on one of your hikes.

The International Crane Foundation owned Bonnie Oaks, this property, for ten years, and studied sand hill cranes here. They moved for more open space to their current location about a half hour from here. Their foundation is a great place to learn about these beautiful birds and the variety of cranes around the world - and they house cranes from all over the world right there. Bonnie Oaks still has the Bonnie Oaks banded cranes - a 13 year old male and 8 year old female. The past couple of years, they have paraded their golden colts ( babies ) up past the log house to forage in the prairie here. They are really fun to watch.
