The main attraction for your stay! Shenandoah National Park has an entrance fee - $30 per car. We usually get the National Parks Annual Pass every year for $80 -- it allows free entrance to almost every National Park, so it ends up being well worth it if you visit more than three parks in a year. (You can buy the annual pass at the entrance of Shenandoah too; they take credit cards or cash.) For sunset views - Shenandoah National Park is huge and full of gorgeous overlooks that you can pull right up to and park at and get a view of the surrounding area. The overlooks closest to the entrance/exit of the park understandably get pretty popular right before sunset. One of our favorite hikes is Mount Marshall Trail -- it's a long one but if we remember correctly, there's a place with a great view just 20 mins or so in.

One of the most popular East Coast destinations in the fall and spring, particularly along Skyline Drive. The Front Royal park entrance is the closest entrance to our cabin.

Amazing and scenic hikes ranging from 1 mile to many, some with waterfalls… drive Skyline drive for the views… eat at Big Meadows Lodge

Check website because hikes have varying degrees of difficulty. Outside the park-Old rag is the most popular but it is very difficult so you have to be prepared for that. I personally like buzzard rock. It’s about 3 miles and you get a good view but not strenuous and not too bad if you’re scared of heights.
