Chinhoyi Caves, Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe The Chinhoyi Caves are a group of limestone and dolomite caves in north central Zimbabwe. They are located about 9 kilometres northwest of the town of Chinhoyi, 120 kilometres from the capital city of Harare. Visitors can access the caves every day of the week and the cost is US$20 for international visitors. How to Get There •By Road International travellers with a valid Driver’s Licence can hire a car (Hertz, Avis, Europcar) for road travel to Chinhoyi (approximately 2 hours from Harare). Driving is not recommended at night.

The Caves are in a Recreational Park run by the Zimbabwe National Parks & Wildlife Management Authority. As you drive in, there is a small office at the main gate where you pay the entry fee. Entry costs $3 for locals, $8 for SADC citizens and $10 for other visitors. There may be a charge per camera. Cell phones no charge. There is no additional vehicle charge. Hours: 8 AM–5 PM Be sure to carry a water bottle with you and keep your phone handy to use as a torch/flashlight. If you have the time why not pack a picnic to have in the park after you’ve explored the caves.
