There’s a secret stretch of track you can ride here. It’s where southbound Northern line trains on the Charing Cross branch terminate, but they don’t go into a depot. They loop round to the northbound platforms ready to take passengers again. You can depart Kennington and five minutes later arrive at...Kennington! If the staff on the platform ask you to get off, just tell them you’re going to stay on and ride the loop. It’s safe for passengers. You will be on an extremely empty train, and it might stop in the loop if there’s a train ahead. That can be a bit creepy, but I can assure you it will get going again.
