There is 7.5 miles of pure perfect sandy beaches from Southbourne to Sandbanks with Bournemouth in the middle. Southbourne Beach is a 15 to 20 minute drive from Barton Sea Breeze Airbnb.
Southbourne Beach is one of Bournemouth's favourite Blue Flag award winning beaches, particularly loved by the locals for its wide, exceptionally clean, sandy and shingle beaches situated further to the West of Bournemouth, away from the hustle and bustle of Bournemouth Pier and the town centre.
Southbourne is the next small town along from Boscombe. Take a left at bottom of Chessel Avenue. It’s a short walk along the road or by beach. Really taken off the last few years with a lovely selection of independent shops, bars and restaurants. I have listed some on the restaurants guidebook! Southbourne beach is also lovely. There’s a cliff lift at Fishermans walk which takes you up to the top then you can walk through the gardens into the high street.

After Hengistbury Head Bournemouth’s sandy beaches continue for miles. The promenade runs all the way along, past Southbourne, Boscombe, Bournemouth, Alum Chine, Durley Chine, and finally Sandbanks. Each beach has it’s own personality. Southbourne is laid back, Boscombe has some great cafes and restaurants, and a surf school, Bournemouth has lots of activities, including a pier, zipwire and big wheel. Reaching Poole harbour and Sandbanks you will find more watersports options, including Windsurfing, Kitesurfing, and Paddleboarding, and also upmarket shops and eateries.
