The Fox Island Sand Spit is located on the western tip of Fox Island, at 55 Bella Bella Dr. The spit offers public access to the Fox Island waterfront, and features picnic areas, beach walks, bird watching and walk-in kayak launch. The property is owned by PenMet Parks.

This is a 1 minute drive or 10 minute walk from the Fox Den. The Tacoma DeMolay Sandspit was acquired in 2010 by PenMet Parks and is actively managed to preserve natural features and allow low-impact public access with special care given to protecting vegetation and wildlife. The park is just over five acres on the northwest tip of Fox Island, offering passive recreation opportunities including viewpoints, wooded trail system, picnicking, parking, restrooms, and water access for non-motorized water-craft.
