Castiglioncello is only one hour by car from the hayloft and you can enjoy a nice day at the sea!
Once an ancient Etruscan village, Castiglioncello dominates a small headland, the last outpost of the Livornese mountains. A tourist destination of international renown, renamed by some enthusiasts as “the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea”, Castiglioncello vaunts a timeless charm. Red reefs that drop down to the sea, sheltered bays and coves lapped with the clearest of waters, the loveliest of pinewoods that inspires artists, painters and poets, Castiglioncello is a magical place to visit. Immortalized in the art of the Macchiaioli movement and popular with celebrities, this little seaside town has become a lively cultural hub.

Enjoy the wonderful panorama from the terrace over the bay, have a walk along the coastline and have a snack around the cafes in the main square.
Best beaches in town in the pearl of the Etrurian coast, a must see landmark for everyone who likes crystal clear water and amazing view. Mostly, the beaches are made out of stones, but in the centre of Castiglioncello, after you pass the pine forest you can get the access to the sandy beach, although it's quite tiny. If you want to enjoy the sand it's highly recommendable to get up pretty early in the morning or you won't find a place where to lay down on your towel.
