It is a large and complex site from late Neolithic to earlier Bronze Age; which appears as a large circle of over 50 closely spaced upright stones, some as much as six feet tall, with some small gaps, surrounding a space about 110 ft across.
Ballynoe Stone Circle is a large and complex site which appears as a large circle of over 50 closely spaced upright stones, some as much as six feet tall, with some small gaps, surrounding a space about 110 ft across. You reach it by way of a long footpath off the main road.
This is another one of our favourite places to visit, it's a very quiet and peaceful area. The walk down too the stone circle is just delightful, the trees and hedges are filled with little gifts to the 'fairies' and spirits that are said to reside there. The stone circle has a wonderful and peaceful feeling that is hard to explain.
