This boulangerie is a pleasant 15-minute walk down a lush, green pedestrian street from Ikejiri-Ōhashi station. Do be aware, however, that the store is only open Thursday through Saturday. Although she works at a leisurely pace, the owner bakes a lot of love into the fresh bread on the shelves. I personally recommend the yomogi anpan—anyone able to get this red bean bun fresh out of the oven is a truly lucky soul! Crispy on the outside, springy on the inside—with a sweet red bean paste core that will knock your socks off. Apparently, the secret is kneading rice into the dough.
