A high tide sandy beach. No surf. Safe swimming. Good for canoes paddle boards picnics.
Harbour Cove is a beautiful and unspoilt beach. There is no cafe or amenities at all which make it so special. It is a couple minuites drive or a 15 minuite walk from the cottage.
About a mile down the SW Coastal Path (continue from Chapel Stile Field ) you come to Harbour Cove, locally known as Tregirls Beach. Fine golden sand at all states of the tide. Often you'll find your yourself almost alone, looking out to sea. Most visitors to Padstow don't make it this far, so even in the height of the Summer Season, this is our favourite beach. Grab a pasty and drink in the town and take a picnic. If it is windy you can hunker down in the lee of the sand dunes and watch the waves. Safe for families, but the tide can come in quite fast over the flat sands - like any tidal area, pay attention to the tide times. Tide times are posted in the window of the harbour master's office in Padstow harbour. Take a different route back to town via Tregirls Farm - there is a fantastic view from the hill top over the bay.
