Twin Pines Conservation Education Center is the place to visit if you want to know more about the natural environment in the Ozarks and the cultural history of the local area. Missouri Department of Conservation does a great job here, offering a full range of exhibits on nature and history that are enjoyable and educational for kids and adults. A one-room school, outdoor exhibits, fishing pond and hiking trail can provide hours of enjoyment. MDC also provides an assortment of publications on the local wildlife and great programs you can take part in.

Wonderful experience for everyone who enjoys nature. And interactive educational fun experience for the whole family.
If you’re looking for something kid friendly to do that isn’t the river, Twin Pines is a great place. There is a little log cabin playhouse inside the visitor’s center with toys for the kids to play with. The bathrooms have always been clean, there are fishing poles and tackle to use to take the kids fishing at no cost, an old school house, and nice (short) walking trail near the pond.
