Local liquor store, supermarkets do not sell alcoholic beverages . On weekdays it closes at 18:00 and on saturdays it closes at 16:00. Closed on sundays and puplic holidays.

Vínbúðin (wine shop) is run by ÁTVR, locally called ríkið. It is Iceland's sole legal vendor of alcohol for private consumption. High licensing fees make alcohol twice as expensive outside the Vínbúð.
