Knowledgeable staff can help you plan your hiking trips and give you tips on weather patterns. This is the best way to start a hike up Mt. Washington! They have a store too, with hiking clothes and gear (at reasonable prices, surprisingly!), natural history books, trail mix, posters, stickers and patches. They also serve a breakfast buffet, lunch sandwiches/soup/chili and home-cooked dinner every day (always something vegetarian and usually some gluten-free options). Tasty!

So much hiking information at this visitors center. Hike all the way up to Tuckerman's Ravine (2hrs, not for the faint of heart), or just 10 minutes up the trail to view the beautiful Cascade Falls. Jump on the Appalachian Trail just across the road.
