The stairs at Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair in the Royal Botanic Gardens are long—there are more than 115 to scale—and there’s a lot of flat parkland at the bottom so you can alternate between bodyweight exercises and cardio up the stairs. Plus, it’s one of the most stunning open-air gyms anywhere—you’re exercising while overlooking the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. At lunchtime on weekdays—roughly from noon to 2 pm—this becomes the busiest set of stairs I have ever seen. Everyone runs here from the city to train. I recommend visiting in the morning or after work instead. It’s also relatively quiet on weekends.

A great walk to enjoy the views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from and take in the harbour itself.
Located within the botanic gardens precinct. Take a walk through here on a sunny day
Mrs Macquarie's Chair, otherwise known as Lady Macquarie's Chair, provides one of the best vantage points in Sydney. The historic chair was carved out of a rock ledge for Governor Lachlan Macquarie's wife, Elizabeth, as she was known to visit the area and sit enjoying the panoramic views of the harbour.
This is a great spot to take pictures of both the Opera House and The Harbour bridge from a different angle. You can get here by walking along the water from the steps of the Opera House and visit the Royal Botanical Gardens along the way. This walk is well worth it for the views, plenty of Instagram worthy shots.
