One of the most famous and picturesque wine villages of Cyprus! Full of beautiful traditional houses and other interesting buildings. Omodos village has maintained its typical Cypriot tradition alive. Arriving at Omodos it is worth visiting the chapel of the Apostle Philip, which is the oldest of all the chapels in Omodos and it is located in the ‘Pente Litharia’ area of the village. It is speculated that in ancient times this chapel was once an altar to the Greek god Apollo, this is because there is a large ancient laurel tree next to the chapel. It is worth mentioning that this chapel was renovated in 1773. The Monastery of the Holy Cross, stands in the centre of the village and it is one of the oldest and most historic monasteries of the island. There are museums built in the renovated halls within the Monastery.

A monastery village located at the foothills of the Troodos mountains. A lovely walking town with cobbled streets, a local market and shops and great café’s and eateries. The main cobbled street leads down to the Timios Stavros Monastery, which you can visit at certain times during the day. A favourite place to eat for a great lunch in Omodos is Yiannis. Just a two minute walk from cobbled street, just ask a local how to get there. Narrow winding streets offer respite from the warm sun and offer several local arts and crafts shops such as glass blowing, lace and jewelry vendors. Omodos is great place to stop for lunch on the way back from Troodos Hotel after a morning walk.
