Monte Kronio, also named Monte San Calogero from the presence of the cave where the saint died and the sanctuary erected in his name, is the highest part of the Saccense territory. A natural reserve characterized by a pine forest and some strips of rock vegetation extends over the whole mountain, while on the summit there are the presence of birds of prey including the Kestrel and the rare Bonelli's Eagle. The singular uniqueness of this mountain is linked to the presence of vaporous phenomena which, going up along the network of tunnels that crosses it, emerge from the upper karst cavities, incorporated in the modern building of the spa. The premises located on the top floor of the spa complex host a small Antiquarium, which displays the archaeological materials of prehistoric and historical times from excavations and research conducted in the last century within the underground complex of karst origin that develops throughout the the interior of Mountain.
