Interpretive trail signs guide families around old homestead and large, high-meadow ecosystem lying in the shadow of Bowman Mountain. Outstanding, seasonal wildflower displays. Exceptional bird habitat and wildlife watching. Follow road toward Lindsey Lake, but at 1.5 miles turn left (north) at signed intersection. After a guestimate of 1/4-mile, veer right (north) at the y-intersection. Continue for a total 1.2 miles on very rough, primitive road. Definitely, totally unsuitable for trailers or RVs. Sedans and low-clearance vehicles will make it if you’re good at creeping around rocks in the road. But I wouldn’t drive a new sedan into the Trailhead.
