Gillies Trail & Gillies Grove, .3 km from The Bicycle Thief. Gillies Trail takes you along the Madawaska River, through Robert Simpson Park and one of the oldest growth forests in Canada, Gilles Grove, a 34 acre Nature Reserve with towering trees which is home to the tallest White Pine in Canada. The total distance for the main route is 2.7 km. Access to Gillies Grove can be had at the end of Ottawa Street or at The Galliee property.
