Boch Hollow and Robinson Falls are unique features of the Hocking Hills region of Ohio—a convoluted collection of beautiful sandstone, gorges, alcoves, and waterfalls representative of Ohio’s Allegheny Plateau. The waterfall itself, a horsetail plume approximately 12 to 15 feet tall, flows with seasonal fortitude over a precipice into a narrow gorge—complete with deep emerald plunge pools and moss covered walls, the gorgeous scenery is reminiscent of the Pacific Northwest. The most significant natural feature in the preserve is Robinson Falls, a rare example in Ohio of a canyon falls. An access permit is required from the Division of Natural Areas and Preserves to view the falls.

only 4 miles from the cabin is this hidden gem of a trail. much less utilized than the state parks but great hiking.

Ideal place to hike, never crowded but absolutely beautiful. Amazing it seems no one knows about this one! Go here if you want to steer clear of the crowds.

Our cabin is surrounded by Boch Hollow State Nature Preserve with many nice trails, ponds and Robinson Falls, though a permit is necessary to access Robinson Falls.

Located in northern Hocking County at the edge of the Hocking Hills Region, Boch Hollow provides an excellent opportunity to see a wide diversity of habitats ranging from riparian corridors, mature wooded hills, ridges, and old field remnants. The most notable botanical feature at Boch Hollow is the extensive population of the Federally Endangered Running Buffalo Clover – the largest such population in Ohio.
