After a major renovation, SarriĆ is now a market with modern and functional premises, but it still retains the charm of a market that has been serving local people for over a century. It is a relatively small market: it has around 20 stalls, as well as non-food shops, bars and a supermarket. Even so, it is a lively place and a dynamic element in the neighbourhood.

SarriĆ also has its own neighbourhood market, down the street from the Pedralbes Monastery, which is probably much more authentic than any of the others you are likely to find downtown. SarriĆ Market has become a modern, spacious showcase for food which reopened in 2007 after a complete refit. It still retains the original structure of the market founded over 100 years ago which supplied the local community with food throughout the last century and continues to do so today.
