Our guided kayak tour of beautiful Shell Key Preserve (incl beach walk :) ) begins at the public launch area just north of the bridge to Fort De Soto Park. My team and I will meet everyone here, do introductions, hand out waterproof bags, and then get everyone prepped for kayaking (lifejackets are provided, but not required for guests over 16). No experience needed as we'll give everyone a little paddling overview/refresher! We use primarily tandem kayaks for ease and comfort. (Your booking time is the planned arrival time). After that we'll head out onto the water & into the Preserve! The Preserve is a beautiful shallow environment with plenty of wildlife & a very interesting ecosystem! We'll discuss both the ecosystem and history of the Preserve. From the shallow seagrass flats to the large mangrove islands to the pristine beaches of Shell Key itself we'll try and cover it all! Including traveling through some mangrove tunnels (with friendly tides, primarily March-October) We'll also look for and talk about some of our incredible wildlife in the Preserve including dolphins, manatees, & other various fish & bird life! From our kayaks we'll be able to see a few different St. Pete landmarks & we'll discuss their history as well as some recommendations for places to eat & things to do while you're here! It will be my pleasure to capture your amazing memories to share with your family and friends. We'll meet at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park (600 N Ashley Dr, Tampa, FL 33602) next to the water fountains along N. Ashley Dr. From there we'll walk toward the Riverwalk, passing the Glazier Children's' Museum and the Tampa Museum of Art. We'll stop by a few hidden spots as we enjoy the breeze coming off the Hillsborough river. From there, we'll take a stroll on the Riverwalk and capture the vibrancy of the waterfront. Don't worry about being comfortable in front of the camera, I have years of experience coaching and getting the best shots. If you don't see your preferred date and time, please feel free to reach out to me regarding availability. I may be able to book you at your preferred time. Other things to note Since the shoot will be outdoors, it will be weather permitting. If the weather is not ideal on the day of shoot, I will reschedule or refund your payment. Ideal for singles, couples and images for social media. Please note, if you arrive late, the experience will end at the scheduled time.

A smiling face will greet you as soon as you arrive at our launch site. We will provide you with ice cold drinking water, a waterproof bag to protect your cellphone, keys, wallet, etc. We'll walk down to the kayak launch area and go over all safety precautions including proper use of your life jacket & provide a detailed paddle lesson. Once we are ready to paddle, we will embark on a two hour kayak adventure exploring beautiful Sarasota Bay and the world famous Lido Key mangrove tunnels. I'll tell you all about the interesting history of our beautiful bay as well as talk to you about the incredible flora and fauna we encounter! If we are lucky, we may even be visited be amazing dolphins and gentle manatees. Then, we will journey through Lido Key's spectacular mangrove tunnels while we learn of their importance to our coastal ecosystem. Once our tour is over, we will send you on your way with memories that will last a lifetime. Important note: I will message you immediately after you book to get your preference on single kayaks or tandems. If I get no response, we will default to all tandems if your group is even numbered, or all tandems and a single if its odd numbered. This thoughtfully designed ride through Tampa is truly a great introduction to our wonderful city. Our casual, 3 hour ride includes downtown landmarks, historical locations and ventures through various neighborhoods. With plenty of informative stops built in, this ride is designed to be easy for casual riders and includes a stopover in Hyde Park Village with enough time for a little exploration or a coffee (or beer!) and snack if you're so inclined. Feel free to pick the brain of your knowledgeable, local guide for recommendations for restaurants, bars, breweries, or other entertainment options. (Todd LOVES chatting with visitors!) Other things to note Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to start time so we can get you set up with a bike and helmet. ***We will depart promptly at 9:30 AM

For this guided eco kayaking adventure we will meet at a public launch site just North of Fort De Soto State Park. In order to provide a great experience for our guests, we focus exclusively on small groups (8 guests). We will provide all the necessary equipment, dry bags, and instruction before heading out. We use stable sit-inside kayaks which are more comfortable and easier to paddle than sit-on-top & clear kayaks. This allows us to explore more of the preserve at an easier pace and provides better wildlife viewing opportunities. Once we depart, we'll explore the various ecosystems of the Shell Key Preserve highlighting the beauty of this coastal habitat. We'll kayak through mangrove tunnels (tides permitting), over shallow seagrass meadows, and look for wildlife along the way. Once we reach Shell Island you will have time to swim, explore, look for shells, or just relax and enjoy the beauty of this uninhabited barrier island. The preserve is home to a variety of shorebirds, nesting sea turtles, dolphins, manatees and much more. It is a great way to get out and see the natural side of St Pete. Please note: alcohol and pets are not permitted in the Preserve. Other things to note Moderate physical activity required. We mainly use double kayaks, kids 3 and up are welcome with an adult for each child under 13. Kids under 13 must be in a double with an adult.
