The landmark of the island and one of the most picteresque locations. 3 minutes away on your left from the Beach House.
Within 3 minutes on foot from the house. One of the most iconic landmarks of the island. The original lighthouse was built in 1829 under British rule, like much of the island’s characteristic architecture (see Debosset Bridge), and was designed by J.P. Kennedy as a circular building with Doric columns. During the earthquakes of 1953 it was demolished but it was rebuilt immediately afterwards.
