The castle of Saint George is built on a hilltop in Peratata. Entrance is free, Mondays the castle is closed and usually during early noon. It is worth visiting even though in ruins to enjoy the marvellous view from above.

Small colorful villas, great restaurants, a marina harbour that attracts wealthy yachts. You can also arrange to take a Ferry tour towards Astakos island, Lefkada island or Ithaka.

Pine forests are found between the elevations of 700 to 1200 m. Semi wild ponies inhabit its forest.
On clear days, the view includes the NW Peloponnese and Aetolia along with the islands of Zakynthos, Lefkada, and Ithaca. Great for pic nics with a view. A car is a must!
