Food Scene
I don't normally like vegitarian food. I am a meat eater, but I was really impressed with this place. Food was great, had pizza. I went at night, they had live music which was awesome. I saw and outdoor area that would be really nice during the day to just chill with a coffee or for breaky. Its' really close to walk.

I am a member here, but you DO NOT have to be a member to go there. Just sign in at the front reception and you are in! This is the best place for breaky or lunch, just for the view alone. It is the only restaurant/bar directly on the beach, for now. My Mum does not like the food there. It's pretty basic food.

Melbourne style coffee, but with Gold Coast clicky attitude. Maybe it's just cranky old me, but the staff seem to be too cool for school, but there is no denying it's good coffee and they have a good rating on Beanhunter, which is a great app for finding good coffee. Grab your take aways here as it's not very scenic and not many seats.

I've been coming here for 25 years now. It's a bit of an institution in Broadbeach. They are renowned for their big serves. The food has been consistently good over all these years.

Drinks & Nightlife
Because it's really close by. I don't gamble myself, but I still love the place for all the food alternatives. Used to have a great night club. I believe they are adding another wing to their hotel- spending another 300 million or so. Going to be huge. Check out their website for food options.

Parks & Nature
My fav thing to do is to drive down a little bit South, about 5 mins down the highway, park the car at Miami Surf Life Saving Club, then go for a walk up to Mick Schamburg Park, which is the point on the beach that separates Miami Beach and North Burleigh Beach. Go for an early morning walk, then hit the surf club for breaky and coffee. It gets very busy at the surf club so this is for very early risers!

This is the huge long park that sits inbetween the Diamond Beach Resort and the beach. It's quite long. It starts at our end in the South and goes all the way, past Kurrawa surf life saving club and up to Broadbeach. There are at least 3 different kids plays areas in this park.

It's just North of us, right on the beach. You can park underneath in this mall, then hit the beach, then do the shopping afterwards. Very handy.

Please be aware that there's no train system on the Gold Coast. In terms of transport, there is the light rail system, so Broadbeach South Station is just at the end of Alexandra Ave and across the highway. This will take you North into Surfers, or there are just buses or taxis (or of course, private shuttle buses or hiring a car).
A website well worth checking out is the Journey Planner: http://jp.translink.com.au/ on Translink's website because you can insert in your hotel's address and your destination, and it'll advise you where to get on the bus and so forth.
Use your Go card and the buses leave from either on the main highway, or Oasis shopping centre or Pacific Fair. You could also just catch buses from Oasis Shopping Mall in Broadbeach, if you plan to be there.
For the bus from the Airport, catch bus #702 outside the domestic arrivals area of Gold Coast Airport. This is the cheapest option as well.
Good luck with your planning and have a GREAT time on the Gold Coast!
