I have known this place from before it opened. I met the owner, Amadeus when he was renovating the space. The space, the food, and the service are all derived from the owner's fine attention to detail. It is easily the best restaurant in Bedford Stuyvesant with the most creative menu and widest wine list. When L'Antagoniste opened it was on a gritty block that has been completely transformed by the by business and the owner. Amadeus is engaged in the neighborhood, lives in the neighborhood and is raising his family in the neighborhood. On any given night you will see people who have lived in the neighborhood for several generations and new people giving the airbnb guest a personal and close up view of what Bedford Stuyvesant is
