Parks & Nature
The second warmest lake in Canada and a fantastic swimming hole. The lake is on the border of the Okanagan climate so expect it to be +30* if Rossland is in the low 20's. The water gets to 20*C by late may even mid winter expect it to be quite a bit milder than Rossland.

Endless backcountry options in both winter and summer. We recommend proper backcountry gear, a snowmobile or mountain bike in summer and at least one friend to share it with. If you lack these things the folks at retallack.com can accommodate. As a kid, Davis Suzuki discovered his love of nature in these mountains. I'll let you discover how the government made this happen for him and his family.

Whaaat? There's a ski hill in town!
Yup those miners needed something to do on their infrequent days off and the town needed an economy after they plundered all the gold on, well guess...some things never change.
RED is a powderhound's tree skiing wet dream, seriously bring your GoreTex, DWR or whatever magical nano water repellant you prefer and a snorkel because this collection of peaks gets a fair bit of snow falling between its perfectly spaced evergreens.
Despite the town's hardest efforts RED will never blow up, for that to happen we need a real airport and a plethora of other things one simply can't bring to a tiny town. So go ahead tell everyone you meet how good it is!

Our local golf course. I'm saving golf for my 60's (because my knees & hips still work) but I'm told its a great course. For now my dogs love the grass & terrain on walks in the off season.
