The farm was established by Attillio and Mary Bisognin in 1966. Son Glen now looks after the family dairy farm with partner Kaye Courtney, and grandson Luke milking a herd of 180 Holstein Cows. The Cheese making began as a hobby for Kaye and has now flourished into a thriving business. Bassine Specialty Cheeses is a small cheese making factory built to exacting specifications on our 235ac farm.

The Kernot Food and Wine Store is a beautiful heritage store built in 1911 nestled in the hills of South Gippsland, about 6km off Bass Highway. The licensed resturant offers wood fire pizzas, home made pies and sweets, breakfast and lunch menu, evolving dinner menu, with local wines and other local produce available for purchase. Julie and Paul Johnston create a warm, welcoming atmosphere and are always up for a good chat. Their hope is to create a place where the local community and out of towners can get together for a good time and to enjoy the scenery Kernot has to offer. Famous for its cullinary delights, Kernot Food and Wine Store is a great place to have a coffee and catch up with friends, enjoy a drink and some live music, or let your hair down and have a dance.

Rural Phillip Island, off Australia’s southern coast, near Melbourne, is known for its storied motor circuit, as well as for its wildlife. At Phillip Island Nature Park, spectators gather nightly to watch the Penguin Parade, when fairy penguins make their return to burrows on the beach. The Nobbies outcropping is the viewing site for Seal Rocks, an offshore basking place for fur seals.

The Prom is one of Victoria’s most-loved places. At the southernmost tip of mainland Australia, it offers spectacular scenery of huge granite mountains, open forest, rainforest, sweeping beaches and coastlines. Great bushwalks extend from under an hour to over three days. Visitors can camp, caravan or stay in huts, cabins, wilderness retreats or lodges at Tidal River where there is a general store and take-away food shop. Wilsons Promontory Lightstation is perched on a small peninsula jutting into the wild seas of Bass Strait. The waters surrounding the Prom are protected as a marine national park and marine park and offer outstanding diving.
