Neighbourhoods
Cairns Esplanade has a beautiful boardwalk along the beach with various cafes and restaurants. There is even a night market. There is a public swimming pool called the lagoon, which opens at 6am every morning.

The northern beaches are worth visiting. One of my favourites is Palm Cove which is about a 20 min drive from the resort. It is packed with restaurants and coffee shops and the is a netted area in the water for swimming. Also a beautiful place to walk on the extended beach.

This is the place to experience the coral reef. Untouched, it is a day trip to the reef where you can snorkel or scuba drive. Just book before hand as they have buses which pick you up from various spots.

Cairns seasons are wet and dry. Summer is wet, even if you get wet in the rain, it actually feels nice! The winter is dry but still warm and lovely. Pack light, shorts, T shirts, dresses, bathers!
