It's our mountain! You can see Sopris from just about anywhere in town. There are hiking trails, ski access, and biking trails at the base and we highly recommend using them!

Red Hill is a great local spot for hiking and biking just on the edge of town. There are several trails that interconnect - take the Mushroom Rock trail to the top for stunning views overlooking Carbondale with Mount Sopris in the background.

Although it can be very busy with tourists, Hanging Lake is definitely worth seeing. It's a steep but relatively short hike up to the lake and it's well worth the effort!

Sightseeing
The town of Marble is tiny, but the surrounding mountains and views are astounding. In the summer there are plenty of hiking trails in every direction, and in the winter Marble is slowly becoming famous for it's amazing backcountry ski access. Check out the self guided tour of the old Marble mine processing facility, or get some barbeque after a hike at Slow Groovin (only open in the summer).
