Filipinos are very hospitable and friendly. If they call you "Joe" don't be offended it's just a friendly word to call a male foreigner. Filipinos sometimes stare if they see a foreigner again that's something you need to get used to. Filipinos would also love to engage in a chit-chat even if sometimes the English grammar is wrong at least you get to understand each other. :)
