Oakland/Trestle Glen guidebook

The closest public transit is just a few blocks away (up the hill) to Park Boulevard. Lakeshore is a further walk, but has more restaurants and stores from which to choose. There are electric scooters to rent and also a "Bay Bikes" terminal right at the intersection of Trestle Glen and Lakeshore (about a 25 minute walk away).

Oakland is generally warmer and more consistent. However, if you are going into San Francisco, you can expect it to be consistently cooler and (especially in the summer) foggy and damp.

Take Bart if you need to get into San Francisco, the airport, or other places on the line. If your ultimate destination is further from a Bart stop, then just call a Lyft/Uber or rent a shared electric scooter. Bay Bridge traffic can be formidable, so taking Bart across the bay can be a huge timesaver. The bay area is not a late night town though, so Bart does not run all night.

There have been isolated incidents of armed robberies in our neighborhood, both in the day and at night. The neighborhood is generally very safe, but it is recommended to walk in groups just to be safe.
