URSCC purchased the James E. Bonine House and Carriage House in December of 2010, and is well on the way to restoring both iconic structures. James E. Bonine, Quaker and staunch abolitionist, came to Cass County from Wayne Co. Indiana in 1843, married Sarah Ann Bogue (daughter of Stephen Bogue, shown below) in 1844, and built their Greek Revival farmhouse around 1845. After the Civil War, the home was enlarged in the Second Empire style, adding the tower and the north addition. The Bonine House is open for touring Tuesday-Saturday June through September from 1-4pm. Much more information as well as restoration photos can be found at www.urscc.org/boninehouserestoration. The first floor of the Bonine House will be available for private and community events. The second floor tells the story of the UGRR in Cass County, with a library and display rooms.

"In a little bitty town... in the middle of nowhere.. They have a Display of military Memorials and Relics, that could rival a VFW Post of a Huge city... And a Busy, Friendly, Dedicated Staff to keep it moving on up.
Stop on in and support a Great collection of our American Military Service Members, that Refuse to quit serving our Country, and the Heroes that keep it Free!"

Surprisingly delightful. It is the tiniest theater we've ever visited but it brought a unique intimacy to the performance. We saw "The Foreigner ". The cast was very talented and we thoroughly enjoyed the show. There was no star of the show as each cast member contributed equally to the quality of the performance.
