Kalamaki is situated in the Alimos region of Athens. It is a safe, friendly and cosmopolitan neighbourhood.
Heading left out of the main gate - takes you to the neighbourhood of Kalamaki that boasts shops, restaurants, ATMs, Chemists plus local restaurants, tavernas, cafeterias and more.

Beaches are located across the coastal Poseidon Road. Use the newly erected bridge to cross. There is lift and stair access plus it also lights up an night. Beaches, beach bars, tavernas, restaurants and open events can be found here. You may be charged an entrance fee to some of the beaches. This is normal practice. Please ask if this includes e.g. Sunbed/Shade hire. There is a children’s play area and the Tram Station of Kalamaki - ticket machines for all Athens transport. You can take the tram to Syntagma central Athens, connecting with the Metro. Or Glyfada in the opposite direction. Alimos and Flisvos Marinas are within walking distance or take the Tram.

The nearest Metro Station is Dafni. Take the 141 bus from 9th Kalamaki Bus stop heading up Leoforos Kalamakiou. Get off at Dafni Bus Station and head towards the Metro (follow the crowd). Take the red line to Syntagma.

The Tram
A picturesque form of travel following the coast from Voula to S.E.F or Voula heading inland to Syntagma. From Kalamaki it takes approx. 40mins to Syntagma. Offering a 24hr service during summer months on Fridays and Saturdays. Check times locally.

All public transport
Runs regular. Tickets must be purchased before getting on. Nearest ticket machine is Kalamaki Tram Station. Validate your ticket on entrance to the bus (blue scanner), at the Tram station before getting on the tram, at the Metro gates. Tickets usually allow a 90min travel time for your journey. You only need to validate at the beginning of your journey. The same ticket is valid for bus/tram & metro.
