From Mendenhall Glacier Bear Den, you can head east on Trafalgar (right from the driveway), through the easement at the end of the road (before the road turns into Garnet) and onto the trail. Take a right (south) toward the East Glacier Loop trail for a great- family friendly- hike!

Please pack a raincoat and boots! I live in my extra tuffs and windshell raincoat. Don't be afraid to get wet! everything is only 10-20 minutes away from a cozy cup of hot cocoa/tea/hot coffee.. so even if you do, it's an excuse to snuggle!

The best ways to save are to eat in. That's hard while you're on vacation and want to try all our awesome restaurants. My advice is to order your meal, take some home, and save the leftovers for another day! We have a microwave and oven to reheat your meal to temperature.
ALSO-Don't split meaks at the restaurant. Trust me. You'll want to try everything!

"Out the road" , "Out Thane"
Driving from end to end on Juneau’s 70 Mile highway is an adventure itself. "Out the road" implies taking the road way past Auke Bay, Lena Beach, and going to the end of the paved road that will never connect to anywhere.
"Out Thane" means to take the road down to Thane! there's a great hiking trail at the end. Go explore!
