Right next to the coastal road of Lake Stymphalia, in Skala, there is a small hole, which after 1,5-2 meters downhill leads to the first lakeside cave room. This cave, when discovered, a few years ago when the road was opened, proved to be beautiful, with very remarkable stalactite and stalagmite decorations leading to an underground lake. This lake, in fact, was none other than Stymphalia itself, which, at this point, entered the interior of the earth, that is, the cave. The cave is unfortunately not visited.

Two rivers of the valley of Feneos, Olbios and Gorge, could not find a way to the sea, so their waters would flow to the plateau of Feneos. Over the years, in the southern terminals of the plateau, large drains were formed, the so-called sinks. Perimeter of the old, now-dried Feneos lake, there are 3-4 natural sinks from which, escaping the surplus waters of the lake to the aquifer and the sea, eventually. The only one that still works for this purpose is near the village of Mati on the Feneos plateau, and drains the scorching waters of a great stream into the earth in a very impressive way.
