Food Scene

This is quite possibly the most popular restaurant in Frenchtown! The food is delicious, the service is prompt, and the prices are pretty decent overall. I recommend the banana’s foster hot maple syrup bread pudding for dessert. So delicious!

This is a great place to have fun as a big kid. Enjoy the air conditioning while getting some really good chicken and beer. Call ahead for bowling as you must reserve your lane. The lanes seem to break down a lot:(. But anyway, you can bowl and get awesome chicken dinner delivered to the sound of a strike. Also, the wait service is excellent!

Island Pleasures

A place that is amazing for young and old is Coral World (you do not have to be a kid to be amused the whole time you are there.) For just the regular entrance fee you can enjoy the park's animal feeding experiences where they feed the turtles, sharks, dolphins (and more) and share very interesting information about each creature as they do. It is really special. Right next to Coral World Park is Coki Beach. Coral World and Coki can be reached by the Safari taxi for $2. You will have a 15+ minute walk from where they drop you off.

Happy Hour!

For an amazing happy hour that is located in downtown Charlotte Amalie and within walking distance from the apartment, The Green House is the place to go! Every day from 4-6pm, they do 2 for 1 drinks and discounts on appetizers. Be careful, you have to take both drinks at the same time, but whose complaining?

$1 Safari taxis are an affordable way to get around!

To get around on a budget, you can catch Safari taxis from the bus stops, bus shelters and safe pull off spaces/road cutouts. There is no schedule, but they come often. You must be willing to walk about 5-15 minutes from the drop off point to reach a beach destination. They stop running around 6pm, so if you have not started home by then, you will have to take a taxi service to get where you want to go. They travel in a figure 8. It is $1 to go around the first ring to Tutu Plaza and then another $1 around the next ring which goes through Red Hook. You pay them at the end of your ride.
