Our own Finger Lake
Hemlock Lake
When staying overnight with us you get access to our private switchback trail down to Hemlock Lake. The lake is a protected water shed for the city of Rochester so there is no swimming in the lake and it is monitored from the north end.
However small boats are allowed. It is a wonderful experience to kayak or canoe on the lake. There are two boat launches, North and South. I prefer the North end launch because there is typically less seaweed. Kayak's and canoe's can be rented from "Canadice Lake Outfitters". They will meet you at the boat launch with all your rented equipment and help you launch your boats and pick them up when you are done. Reservations are required. You can find them online by searching their full name.
Please plan to carry out what you bring in. Leaving only footprints and taking only photos.

When staying at Sans Souci things to considering packing:
• Food. We do include a welcome basket with cheese and crackers, and a fully stocked s’mores kit, but bringing your fav foods to enjoy is recommended
• Drinks. We have a private well that provides the house with water. The water is absolutely potable and drinkable but from time to time it could have a have a mineral aroma. We do provide some bottled water but bringing a bit extra is always a good idea. Wine and beer is available for purchase at the winery.
• Rain jacket, just in case
• Sun block
• Good hiking shoes
• Water bottle
