Food scene

Some of the local places we've eaten well and enjoyed.
Try their version of Napolitana classic dish, Pasta & Beans - maybe order 1 to start with as quite big. Also quite easy to find: take the Centrale funicular down. On exit, turn right, go up the steps and its across the road almost in front of you.

One of the famous original pizzerias opened in 1738 for an authentic pizza experience. Try their fried pizza - 'Pizza Fritta' - the original Napolitana pizza and one of the best in Napoli. For something extra special try their 'Pizza Montanara'.

'Pizzeria Da Eduardo'. Our local go-to place for a great authentic Neapolitan Pizza at fair prices. Simple sit-down restaurant with Eduardo & son taking care of diners and the cooking. Go truly authentic with a simple Marinara or Margherita pizza - some say everything else is a corruption - but still really good! Just a 10-15mins walk along our road.

Coffee & Pastries

One of the historic coffee houses of Italy. Even if you don't buy anything, the Liberty-style interior with a tea room is a pleasant surprise. For coffee (esspresso) in Napoli the serve it short, take at the bar like locals do. Don't be afraid to ask for an 'americano' or extra water. Oh, and don't leave before passing the awesome cakes and pastries. Try the classic Neapolitan 'Babà' or 'Sfogliatelle'. Extra tip: If its early in the day, go for the 'riccia' or triangle shape, if in afternoon choose the 'frolla' round shape. The riccia when fresh is really crispy, whereas the frolla is of soft short-crust pastry and holds better over time.
