Neighborhoods
This neighborhood is super fun - lots of people walking in the street, biking, enjoying themselves. Mainly residential with some restaurants and shops sprinkled throughout. Really small, quiet neighborhood feel with a funky twist. Walking through the neighborhood and looking at the houses is really fun, many are painted beautiful colors with intricate detail.

This is the fancy shmancy part of Nola. Very modern, everything new or redone. This is where you’ll find your huge houses, pumpkin spice lattes, lulu lemon, etc.

Gorgeous, gorgeous architecture mainly renovated to period. Walk through this neighborhood and admire the houses. It’s also in the middle of a hip area with a ton of bars and restaurants if you get hungry after all that walking.

Best glazed donut of your life. Great place for coffee and breakfast. Amazing breakfast sandwiches with a ton of meat options. My favorite is an egg cheese and turkey bacon sandwich on a croissant!

A classic New Orleans restaurant that everyone will ask if you visited. Not as fancy as it makes itself out to be, but the food is great.

You haven’t lived until you’ve had their frozen mimosa at brunch. Frozen pomegranate mojito or French 75 at happy hour, 4:30-6 (I think).

Really cool laid back place to grab a few drinks. They have an on-site food place but it takes a million years, so order early and enjoy your drinks!

Sightseeing
This is my favorite place in New Orleans. Very serene park in the middle of the city. The walking loop is 1.75 miles, with dedicated lanes for walking and biking. Don’t walk in the bike lane! You will get yelled at and/or run over.

Self care
Not sure why the preview is pictures of a bar and food, but this is an amazing foot massage place in the French quarter. They also do clothes-on full body massages, all at incredibly reasonable prices. Walk-ins usually welcome.

Friendly friendly!
The expectation here is that you at least acknowledge the people you walk by, but better yet smile and wave. Most will say “how ya doin”!

Streetcar: Fun but slow
The streetcar/trolley is fun, but it’s super slow! Don’t take this if you have reservations to something. Give yourself lots of time.

Bring a rain coat!
We get a lot of rain here in New Orleans, better be prepared with a rain coat and/or umbrella.

Birthday dollars!
If you see someone with money clipped to their shirt, it’s their birthday! Help them celebrate by giving them some cash.

Street parking in the French quarter? No
Save yourself some time and frustration and just pony up for a spot at premium parking lot 401. It’s so worth it! Close to everything.
