Great restaurant just over the Oakland border. Make a reservation, and try to get a table by the window. The cod sandwich is amazing! Their other restaurant, Southie, is right next door--also recommended!

A Berkeley and Oakland classic, best known for their Chicago stuffed pizza. Try the chicken or the chorizo specials. We also love their thin crust pesto pizza. Close to Rockridge BART.

Neighborhoods
The Elmwood was developed after the earthquake of 1906 brought many transplanted San Franciscans to the East Bay. A few Victorians were erected before 1900, but the real boom came a few years later when a mixture of bungalows, shingled boxes, and period revival homes filled the neighborhood’s quiet, tree-lined streets. Some of Elmwood’s most sought-after real estate is the stately shingled homes inspired by West Coast Arts and Crafts architects Greene & Greene and Bernard Maybeck. The neighborhood is close enough to the university but quieter than the areas of student housing that are next to the campus.
College Avenue, Elmwood’s main shopping corridor, is home to dozens of shops and restaurants.

City/town information
Berkeley is famous for the university and the free speech movement. People hold strong opinions in Berkeley and aren't afraid to share them!
It's also a wonderful place to live, full of diverse architecture, beautiful gardens, top notch theater and live music. Berkeley was the epicenter of the food revolution in the 1970's and that legacy endures--it's a foodie town!
I love to walk Berkeley--you can walk from one side to the other in about an hour. Berkeley has countless pedestrian-only pathways that are scattered throughout the Berkeley hills neighborhoods.
The landscape goes from the marina and San Francisco Bay, and ascends gradually towards the Berkeley hills. The weather is mild year round and it rarely freezes.
