Absolutely delicious food served with style. We had beef tartare, quail, salmon for starters, venison, brill and duck for mains- all amazing and tasted as good as they looked - and tiramisu, chocolate tart and apple desserts. The wine with the meal was excellent as were the cosmopolitan cocktail/ gin and tonic aperitifs and canapés served in the cosy fireside sitting area whilst perusing the menus. The fresh bread and amuse bouche were lovely. Service was very friendly and relaxing. Would definitely pay the ££££ to come here again

A fascinating piece of English history
Kenilworth Castle was perhaps made most famous by Sir Walter Scott in his novel published in 1821, with the story set in 1575 leading up to a state visit by Queen Elizabeth to Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester.
Today, in the details of the ruins, you can trace the development of the castle from the 12th century to the 16th century, while the gatehouse remained in use as a private house after the castle was ruined during the Civil War.
Today, the only occupant is Sam the dragon, while one of the Castle's main attractions is a recent recreation of the Elizabethan garden.
The castle has so many stories to tell about English history that it is an essential place for everyone to visit.
