Ely and White Pine County are a true gem to visit in Nevada, but even in the summer months, don’t forget warm clothes for the potential weather. The Great Basin is a beautiful, high elevation, mountain range that can bring unexpected weather year round!

While this is a tourist and casino town in the mountains of Nevada, don’t forget to plan a sober ride home if you plan to imbibe. Ely is also a central location for multiple different law enforcement agencies, so avoid drinking and driving or being stuck without a way back to your rental!

The ancestral tribal lands and the remaining reservation lands owned by the Ely Shoshone Tribe surround the city of Ely. There are scattered shops and areas to visit around town for historic information about the tribe, as well as purchase beautiful tribal artwork and jewelry.
