Food scene
The best restaurants we’ve found in Fraser and downtown Winter Park.
They have the best service and amazing Mexican food! Their margaritas are so good! I recommend going for dinner before 6 pm or there will likely be a wait.

The Lift Free Shuttle (Purple line and/ or Black line)
If you prefer not to drive and park at Winter park resort you can walk approximately 1000 ft Southeast to the pick up location at Silvercrest condos for a free Lift ride (purple line). The schedule is normally 1 pickup per hour on weekdays (more often on weekends.) There is also a black line that picks up more frequently at Wapiti & Ermine, but is a further walk (.8 mi). You can take these free buses to other locations on the route as well such as the rec center, shopping, bars/ restaurants, Cooper Creek, etc. Service normally ends around 5 pm. There is a Night Ride bus, which I have not used.

Free Lift bus rides
You can look up the free Lift bus routes and schedules on Google maps or download the Lift app on your phone. The closest ones to the townhouse are the purple line (which runs approx once an hour on weekdays, more on weekends) and the black line (runs more frequently, but the stop is further away, .8 miles.) To walk to the closest purple line stop, walk up the driveway and turn right. Walk Southeast on Looking Glass Lane (GCR 850) for 1000 feet. You will come to an intersection and see the Silvercrest condos straight ahead. The pickup is in the front parking lot at the condos. 7:30 am to 4:30

Casual attire
There are many bars and restaurants around Fraser and Winter Park. People will be dressed casually in jeans, ski clothing, work out attire etc. You really don’t need to dress up..unless you really want to.

Warm/dry winter clothing
If you are visiting in the winter, make sure you bring plenty of warm, moisture-wicking clothing. I would recommend not wearing cotton socks for outdoor winter activities. Get some wool or synthetic moisture-wicking ones (not necessarily thick) to keep your feet dry, which will keep them warmer. I would recommend the same with your undershirts. Base layer clothing found at sporting goods stores are good. Also, bring warm hats, gloves, waterproof jacket and pants, boots, etc.

Snow tires/ 4 wheel drive required in winter
Snow tires are a must in winter months! Colorado has a law that requires drivers to have 1/8” tread snow tires and/ or 4-wheel drive vehicles for winter driving. (I think chains can also be used.) If you are renting a car, be sure to check on this with the rental agency. You should do a google search to read the details of this law yourself, so you will be well informed on what is required.
